Collage on off-white Rivoli paper backed with foam board. Two black and white photos taken from the book BIRTH, the woman at the bottom is in a suggested yoga resting pose. The woman in the upper left corner seems to be in water holding out a baby as if handing it to someone. In the upper right corner is a drawing on white cotton with black ink of a friendly person who seems to be reaching out to the woman on the floor.The drawings on cotton are by the artist, they printed them on acetate. The clipping in the bottom right corner is a still from an Ingmar Bergman film of a pregnant woman being pushed along the beach by an enormous circular black sculpture. The photo of the man is taken from Grindr and is of a man who abused the artist. The “if your instinct..” text has now been removed, only the artist’s own text remains: I wish we had not been abused.
