Interconnected blue and pink circles. Gender confusion. 2023

Collage on off-white Rivoli paper backed with foam board. Clipping of a statue dedicated to birth found in the book BIRTH. Also from BIRTH is a cutting of an early embryo blown up  to cover the statues’s face. Atop that is another clipping from BIRTH of a fetus in its early stages of development, starting to take a physical form. Laid between the squatting statue’s legs is a face of an actor screaming. Painted onto acetate using acrylic are interconnected circles in baby blue and baby pink. The acetate was cut leaving just the circles and laid over the collage to connect the fetus with the image of the actor screaming.
