“...nobody knows I’m there at all…” 2023

Collage on off-white Rivoli paper backed by foam board. Clippings from the book entitled BIRTH. A photograph of a baby’s smock dress printed on acetate and scratched into with scissors to reveal a clipping of a crying new born swaddled in a blanket. Above clippings of scans of early signs of embryos forming during pregnancy. Archival water soluble wax pastel in white has been used to intensify the shapes, suggesting dancing. The final clipping is taken from a book entitled CHILDREN DRAW AND TELL, which analyzes children’s figurative drawings. The quote “... nobody knows I’m there at all” was assigned to child’s drawing of themself that appears in collage 19.
