The day the rock fell on Lucy Vincent, Niamh found a portal to a place where she could be present with reality for once. The thoughts she had were not fun. 2023. (Available)
Collage on Rivoli off-white paper backed with foam board. Drawing in archival black ink pen by the artist on Saturday, March 26th, 2023, archival white water-soluble wax pastel, acrylic paint, and colored pencils were added later. Overlaid is a blown up image taken by Jeanna Shepard for the Vineyard Gazette’s front page on a Saturday, 7th May 2020 printed on acetate, the artist is centered in the work looking out. They scratched away most of the rock to reveal the drawing beneath but left a black entrance way: the portal mentioned in the title. The drawing was originally titled as marked, “Am I too considered with being likable?” - a prompt from an Art Therapist which inspired the original black ink drawing. The final edition is an old sunburned clipping from the New York Times the artist added because of it’s odd similarity to the original title and it’s color. It has since been crossed out with a white-out stick.
